OPPO Reno6 5G & Reno6 Pro 5G Coming in India, Following in Indonesia

Jakarta, Gizmology – It is very common for OPPO to present products under the same name, but have different specifications and even designs. This is done to meet consumer demand for each region which is not the same. Another in Indonesia, another in India, where the Reno6 5G Series was inaugurated with the Dimensity chip.

Yes, it seems OPPO India is more confident in presenting a more premium Reno variant. Not only one, there are two officially launched variants; Reno6 5G as well as the Pro variant. Both carry the same design as the one that was launched in their home country, China some time ago.

OPPO Reno6 5G looks like the iPhone 12 Series, especially in the frame design or the sides, made flat to make it easier to grip. Comes in the same color options as the Reno5 in the country, it weighs a bit heavier at 182 grams.

While the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G looks more like the Indonesian Reno5. It weighs more at 177 grams, but is thinner at just 7.6mm. The specifications of the two screens are also different, even though they are both protected by Gorilla Glass 5 plus use a fingerprint sensor under the screen.

Appearing in a classic style, the OPPO Reno6 5G screen has dimensions of 6.43 inches with a full HD + AMOLED panel. Other specifications such as a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate are certainly present. The Pro variant is made slightly different, has 3D curves on the left and right and is slightly larger at 6.55 inches.

Unlike the 4G variant in Indonesia, the OPPO Reno6 5G series uses a chip MediaTek Dimensity 900 & Dimensions 1200, became the first smartphone in India to use this type of chip. The standard version has a combination of 8/128GB of RAM and internal storage, while the Reno6 Pro 5G is bigger at 12/256GB. You can still add virtual RAM up to 7GB.

Even though it doesn’t use a chip from Qualcomm, OPPO can still provide its newest flagship feature, namely Bokeh Flare Portrait Video on these two newest smartphones. The version of the interface is also newer, running ColorOS 11.3 based on Android 11. It doesn’t explain what new features are, other than a System Booster to improve performance and a Private System to save personal data.

The camera setup is the same, with a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra wide-angle, 2MP macro & 2MP mono. Same as Reno5 5G, the 5G version of the Reno6 also has a front camera sensor with a slightly lower resolution at 32MP. For Reno6 5G, the 2MP sensor is removed, so rely on the software’s ability to produce bokeh photos.

The battery capacity of the OPPO Reno6 5G is 4,300 mAh, aka 200 mAh smaller than the Pro variant. But OPPO claims that both can be fully charged in just 31 minutes, utilizing 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 technology. which is a drawback, both are not equipped with a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack.

So what is the price of each of the latest mid-range 5G smartphones from OPPO this time? The OPPO Reno6 5G is priced at INR29,990, or around Rp. 5.8 million. While the Pro variant is more expensive at INR39,990 (Rp7.8 million). More expensive than the initial price of Reno5 5G when it was first introduced in the country.

If you are looking forward to the presence of these two 5G devices, then you have to be a little patient. In the launch of the OPPO Reno6 4G yesterday (15/7), OPPO Indonesia gave a teaser if two exactly the same variants would be present in the future. Will the specifications & prices be the same?
